From noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 12, on Valentine’s weekend, Virginia City Events is presenting its 9th Annual Devil Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl along C Street in Virginia City.

Sampling tour tickets are $25 (plus fees) and cover 11 samples (drinks and treats). Purchase by Feb. 11. A Guilty Pleasure Package is $180 (plus fees) and features hotel room for two, $40 dining credit, two bottles of wine, and buy-one-get-one-free sampling tickets. Purchase by Feb. 4. Tasting of Brewer’s Cabinet beer at The Growler Guys

From 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 27, The Growler Guys, 7530 Longley Lane, is presenting a tasting of six beers from The Brewer’s Cabinet of Reno. Among the beers: Blue Pacer pilsner, Tahoe Blonde ale and Space Lord IPL (India pale lager).

Every attendee receives a raffle ticket on entry and a raffle ticket for each Brewer’s Cabinet beer purchased. Must be present to win items raffled off over the course of the evening. Details.

Silver Oak and Twomey Cellars dinner at Bistro Napa


Beginning 6 p.m. Jan 27, Bistro Napa in Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 S. Virginia St., is presenting a six-course dinner featuring pours from highly regarded Silver Oak Cellars and its sister winery, Twomey Cellars.

Pairing highlights include grilled Maine lobster cocktail with ’20 Twomey sauvignon blanc and bison prime rib with ’18 Silver Oak Ovid Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon. Cost of $225 includes tax and gratuity. Menu/reservations.

TMCC offers EPIC food and drink classes in February


In February, Truckee Meadows Community College is presenting food and drink classes through its Educational Programs Inspiring the Community (EPIC):

• Gourmet Holiday Chocolates runs 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 9 and features chocolate history, hands-on truffle making, recipes and ideas for Valentine’s Day gifts. Cost: $59 plus $15 materials fee. Register by Feb. 2;

• Autoimmune Diet for Health runs 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 and covers foods containing protective compounds, the benefits of eating change and how to choose the right anti-inflammatory diet. Cost: $49. Register by Feb. 10;

• Art of Chinese Stir-Fry runs 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 22 and covers kitchen tools, knife skills, marinating and hands-on preparation of stir-fries. Cost: $59 plus $20 materials fee. Register by Feb. 15; and

• Be Your Own Barista runs 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 26 and covers espresso shot extraction, milk spinning, specialty drinks and hands-on practicing various coffee making techniques. Cost: $59 plus $10 materials fee. Register by Feb. 19.

Valentine’s weekend drag brunch at Matador Lounge

From 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 13, on Valentine’s weekend, Maria and Shania Twampson are presenting Brunch with the Twampsons at Matador Lounge, 445 California Ave. Tickets: $20 (plus fees). Food truck items and signature cocktails available for separate purchase.
