Glow show: After decades of salvaging old signs, neon collector Will Durham announces a downtown Reno museum

Will Durham began collecting neon signs in the 1990s, because he loved neon and thought the signs were cool. When Harold’s Club and the Nevada Club were demolished in 1999, and the Mapes Hotel was demolished in 2000, he realized there was no organization or plan to preserve the iconic signs. He’s collected and stored them ever since, and in September he announced plans to open a museum for them inside the National Bowling Stadium in downtown Reno.
