In our continued coverage of skyrocketing housing costs in Northern Nevada, Matt Beiker takes a look at the exponential rent increases that threaten to squeeze seniors and others on fixed incomes out of the market.
It’s a highly distinctive twist for a flower shop: the Garden of Reno incorporates a coffee bar that serves hot- and-cold brewed coffee, espresso drinks, hot chocolate, baked goods, gourmet chocolates, and extras like flax or milk substitutes. In this week’s Taste of the Town, Johnathan Wright highlights a Godfather-themed gift box of Italian foods, a Scotch dinner, cooking classes and more.
There‘s no debate that director Kenneth Branagh makes good-looking movies, says reviewer Bob Grimm, but Branagh’s second adaptation of an Agatha Christie mystery, Death on the Nile, pilots the flick down a predictable course.
Many folks are barefaced again, thanks to our governor’s proclamation, but the virus isn’t up for re-election. Some UNR students want the mandate restored, because COVID-19, not politicians, will decide when the pandemic is over. We’ll be keeping and eye on the contagion’s numbers in a mostly maskless world.
