Bistro Napa presents Macallan scotch dinner

Beginning 6 p.m. Feb. 24, Bistro Napa in the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 S. Virginia St., is presenting a six-course dinner featuring pours of The Macallan Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Pairings include stuffed quail with Macallan Triple Cask 12-Year and stout-braised short ribs with Macallan Rare Cask.

Urban Roots class on starting garden seedlings

The Urban Roots teaching farm, 1700 E. Second St., is offering Starting Seeds Indoors, the second class in its Dead Plants Society Workshop Series, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 26. The class covers planning, materials, temperature and watering for starting spring and summer seedlings indoors.

One randomly chosen student will receive an indoor gardening set-up (soil, seeds, spray bottle, heating mat, grow light). Cost: $15. Register/details.
