As athletes pile up medals in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, a new study predicts that by mid-century, all but one city on the planet will be too warm to host the event. Reno-Tahoe, which has been maneuvering to bid on the games for 40 years, already is out of the running. Squaw Valley at Lake Tahoe was the first American site for the Winter Games in 1960, but even then, a dry February nearly nixed the international competition.

The Gold ‘N Silver Inn, Reno’s premier comfort-food eatery for 66 years, has been sold to Jacobs Entertainment, the developer who is buying up a big chunk of downtown. In an exclusive interview with RN&R’s Johnathan L. Wright, restaurant owner Jeffry Paine explains the “deal behind the deal.”

The popcorn ratings are back! The first full RN&R movie review by Bob Grimm in almost 23 months is of “Jackass Forever”—and Bob found the film to be a much-needed dose of silliness during this dark pandemic winter.

Straight No Chaser, appearing at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino Feb. 26, got their big break before “Pitch Perfect” and Pentatonix—and helped shepherd in the a cappella craze. Matt King spoke to one of the members about the band—and making/performing music in the age of COVID-19.

Stay safe out there,
