Other states banned or restricted abortions after the Supreme Court gutted Roe v. Wade last year, so some women who need the procedures began traveling to the Silver State, where abortion rights are enshrined in state law.

Movie reviewer Bob Grimm takes a look back at the good, bad and a few downright ugly films released in 2022. Among those with his highest recommendation are The Banshees of Inisherin, All Quiet on the Western Front and The Fabelmans. Blonde, Disenchanted and Black Adam make his worst-of-the-year list—and don’t get him started on the Avatar movies.

Matt Bieker, meanwhile, profiles April Higuera, an author, private detective and musician who has cut albums with big-time producers and is getting back to her musical roots.

Nevada is one of just two states that lack a professional theater. Guest columnist Jeanmarie Simpson, a playwright and director, says it’s about time we changed that.

Good Luck Macbeth, the community theater whose very name toys with the fates, has survived since 2008, but needs more support from local theater-lovers so that it may continue to thrive, Jessica Santina reports.
