Welcome to our 2018 Bars & Clubs Guide. I know I say this about a lot of guides, but this is one of my favorites. And in a drinking town like Reno, why wouldnโt it be?
The local bar scene is vibrant these days, from downtown to midtown and pretty much all across the valley. Really, regardless of what youโre looking for, thereโs a bar to fit your needs. But what are you looking for? Thatโs the question at the heart of this yearโs Bars & Clubs Guide. What do we want out of our bar experiences?
If you happen to be looking for love at the bar, thereโs a story in this guide that may be of interest to you. Regular contributor Matt Bieker did some reading on classy ways to use a wingperson and tested a few out on the town.
If, on the other hand, youโre just looking for entertainment, we have a story about Renoโs mainstay music venue bars. Of course, you may actually be looking for something a bit more low-key. In that case, read contributor Fil Corbittโs story about his search for a bar without TVs.
And if all you want are a few good stories about bars, weโve got those, too. You can read about what bartenders say they get out of their work. And thereโs a story about Jungle owner Matt Polleyโs aspirations to keep his bar thriving in downtown Reno.
We also have a story about the reopening of a longtime Reno favoriteโCorriganโs Bit Oโ Ireland on Wells Avenue.
Also, thanks to RN&R Contributor Eric Marks for our cover photo of K J Flippen at Z Bar.
Happy reading, and, please, drink responsibly. Donโt drive.
Cheers,
