PHOTO/RN&R: An untitled Nevada landscape by Jeff Nicholson, a signed limited edition lithograph, is among the 28 artworks in the Art Talks silent auction.

A signed lithograph by former President Jimmy Carter and artworks inspired by the beauty of the Silver State and California are among the more than two dozen fine art pieces offered in the Art Talks’ silent auction at the Reno News & Review’s fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 23.

The outdoor event is scheduled from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 175 Juniper Hill Road in Reno. Guests are invited to stroll through host Jim House’s lovely backyard garden enjoying an autumn evening of art, libations, and hors d’oeuvres. Fifteen local artists will start and complete new works in 90 minutes, with the pieces auctioned at 6:30 p.m.

Art Talks tickets are free and available online. A $50 donation is suggested. There are also 28 fine art pieces in the “Boneyard” silent auction, with bidding to close at 6:30 p.m. Here’s a look at some of those works:
