PRIDE marches again on July 24

After switching to an online format last year, the Northern Nevada PRIDE parade and festival is back in-person in downtown Reno and at Wingfield Park on Saturday, July 24.

“After a year inside, it’s time to come OUTside, OUTloud, OUT&proud!,” Northern Nevada PRIDE communications director YeVonne Allen wrote in an email announcing this year’s events. The parade and festival are presented by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and supported by scores of local corporate and individual sponsors.

“It’s a day-long celebration that brings together the LGBTQ community, allies, and businesses to promote diversity, celebrate culture, remember history, and advocate for the future,” Allen wrote. 

The parade begins at 10 a.m. in downtown Reno on Virginia Street, followed by the festival in Wingfield Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. VINCINT is the headline act on the entertainment schedule; Elliott with 2 T’s from RuPaul’s Drag Race also will be performing, along with dozens of local entertainers on the festival bill.
