Jane’s Brew Gourmet Hot Chocolate is a powdered beverage mix similar to Swiss Miss, only with 80 mg of medical cannabis. The packet claims that the product is “best when mixed with hot or warm milk,” but I avoid milk whenever possible, so I mixed it with water instead.
After dissolving, the liquid turns a muddy purple-brown, and while it smells and tastes like normal hot chocolate, the cannabis adds a caramel kick to the aftertaste. It’s just as “rich and velvety” as the package promises, not too sweet with a smooth texture. After about an hour, I was dead tired and ready for a nap; it’s the perfect wintry nightcap for a chronic insomniac.
