The Nevada Wind Working Group has released a list of plans for 2012 to โbecome a stronger voice for wind energy in Nevada,โ according to a statement released the last week of 2011. The organization is a part of Wind Powering America and has developed an extensive list of goals for the state, including a push for regional colleges and universities to offer wind energy study programs for technicians and engineers and more community outreach events. They will also discuss options for locations where wind turbines can be installed, and how to best minimize the impact on wildlife, including birds, whose flight paths are occasionally obstructed by the turbines.
A wind energy conference will be held in Las Vegas in the spring.
