Nov. 1 marked the start of Carson Ranger Districtโ€™s preventative measures against forest fires. The CRD began mowing and mulching brush and small trees in the Jobโ€™s Peak Project area off of Foothill Road in Douglas County, south of Kingsbury Grade to the California state line, to reduce forest debris that could become a fire hazard. The Fay-Luther and Jobs Peak Ranch trails may be closed for short periods of time to ensure public safety. The project is expected to last until January 2012, weather permitting.
