Some of Renoโ€™s most generous bartenders were thoughtful enough to share some of their favorite cocktail recipes with RN&R readers. Enjoy.

5 Star Saloon

132 West St., 329-2878

The first question the contributing bartender at 5 Star Saloon asked when responding to our request was if she could cuss. But of course. Now this one may be a little embarrassing to order, but here goes. โ€ฆ

Come Fuck Me

1/2 oz. amaretto

1/4 oz. orange juice

1/2 oz. Southern Comfort

Dash of grenadine

Shake on ice and serve as a shot.

Lincoln Lounge

302 E. Fourth St., 323-5426

Jesse Reeves over at Lincoln Lounge describes this as โ€œa really balanced cocktail with some very unique flavors. Itโ€™s named after the monks that have been distilling Chartreuse since the 1740s.โ€

The Carthusian

3/4 oz. Sazerac Rye (or any rye whiskey)

3/4 oz. Yellow Chartreus

3/4 oz. Benedictine

3/4 oz. lemon Juice

Mix all ingredients in a large glass full of ice. Stir for 20-30 seconds and strain intoa cocktail glass. Garnish with a thin lemon zest.

Casaleโ€™s Half Way Club

2501 E. Fourth St., 323-3979

Longtime local favorite Casaleโ€™s was at a loss when asked for a drink recipe. Instead, we were told, โ€œJรคgermeister is our specialty. You want Jรคger, come here.โ€ A recipe for success.

St. James Infirmary

445 California Ave., 657-8484

Owner Art Farley really wanted to give us a drink he crafted in honor of one of our contributing writers, but out of respect for our perceived-conflict-of-interest policies, we thought itโ€™d be better to go with this one. But if youโ€™re curious, next time youโ€™re at St. James, ask for โ€œThe Dunagan.โ€

Fred and Ginger

1 1/4 oz. Stolichnaya Raspberry Vodka

2 oz. of homemade sweet and sour blended with fresh ginger, a dash of bitters, and strained

3-4 fresh raspberries

Place all the ingredients and a bucket glass of ice in an ice crusher/shaker; this will muddle the ingredients while crushing the ice. Strain back into the bucket glass and top with approximately 2 oz. of Lindemanโ€™s Framboise (Belgian Raspberry Lambic). Garnish with a fresh raspberry resting on a mint leaf and a Framboise float.

Polo Lounge

1159. S. Virgina St. 322-8864

The Polo Loungeโ€™s Gina Rohrer says this drink is similar to a drop shotโ€”think Irish car bomb-styleโ€”but lighter.

Orange Tic-Tac

In a shot glass, mix 3/4 ounce mandarin vodka with 1/4 ounce triple sec and a drop of grenadine. Separately, in a pint glass, add a quarter can of Red Bull and fill the pint until just under the halfway mark with orange juice. Drop in the shot glass and toss it back.

775 Gastropub

5162 Meadowood Mall Circle, 828-0775

775 Gastropub may be better known for its extensive craft beer selection, but itโ€™s full bar is not too shabby, either. Hereโ€™s one of their favorites, nice and easy.

Pomegranate Lemon Drop Martini

1 1/2 oz. Stolichnaya Pomegranate Vodka

3/4 oz. rock candy syrup

Juice from half a lemon

Take a frozen martini glass, sugar the rim. Shake until chilled, then strain. Garnish with three pomegranate seeds.
