After more than a foot of snow fell in Reno this past week, the
snowboarders, skiers and snowshoers, who have no doubt skipped work at
least once to head to the mountains, are now remembering why they live
here. The drivers of cars that were never intended for a foot of snow
are now cursing the streets while praying they don’t get killed.
And the perennial thermostat control wars between women and men are
getting ruthless and best reconciled under an electric blanket.
Winter is here, for better or worse, and so is this,
RN&R’s annual winter guide. From relaxing hot springs and
little cabins in the woods to daredevil ski-BASE jumpers and people who
split their snowboards in half, we hope this guide provides a little of
the warm glow and crisp rush that winter tends to bring.
