Sharon McNight has the booming voice you would expect from a gal that has belted out songs from the Broadway stage. Now she will bring her one-woman show, Her Music, Her Style…Her Way, to Reno for two nights of dynamic entertainment. McNight’s powerhouse voice and presence has been captivating cabaret audiences for nearly two decades, prompting the Los Angeles Times to call her “one of the great wonders of the musical stage.” She made her Broadway debut in 1989 in Starmites, creating the role of Diva for which she received a Tony Award nomination for “Best Leading Actress in a Musical.” That year, she also received the coveted Theatre World Award for “Outstanding Broadway Debut.” McNight is performing Nov. 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the 2006/2007 Cabaret Concert Series that takes place at the Magic Underground Theatre, Pioneer Center for Performing Arts.
