Donโ€™t hate them because theyโ€™re corporate. In fact, the truth is that they only look corporate (nifty suits, check; diagonal bangs, check; big-budget, major-label debut, check). In actuality, the Click Five are academicโ€”they honed their chops at Bostonโ€™s Berklee School of Music, where they apparently double-majored in Applied Hooksmanship and Classic Chord Progressions, with a practicum in the Art of the โ€™80s Cover. The result is an album that you can sneer at all you like if youโ€™re one of those tiresome indie-rock people but that youโ€™ll enjoy whether youโ€™re willing to admit it or not. Thereโ€™s simply no arguing with the effortless power-pop grace of โ€œTime Machineโ€ and โ€œAngel to You (Devil to Me).โ€ Resistance is futile.
