Long Island emo band Taking Back Sunday played a make-up gig at the Reno Hilton May 4. TBS had previously cancelled two Reno shows due to scheduling conflicts and bad weather. The band’s last attempt to play in Reno in December 2004 was a near-death experience; the group tried to fly into Reno during a raging snowstorm. TBS promised to make up the show and re-routed their current tour with Jimmy Eats World to the Hilton. TBS singer Adam Lazzara flailed about the stage, tossing his microphone cord about like a whip, and wrapped it about his neck like he was about to strangle himself. Closing band Jimmy Eats World played with a bank of TV monitors behind the band while back-lighting filled the stage with dramatic colors and silhouettes.
