The first anime film that really converted me to becoming a fan was Vampire Hunter D . Even after all these years, Vampire Hunter D remains one of the greatest anime films ever made. Although not the classic the first one was, Bloodlust is still an excellent follow-up. D is a โ€œdunpeal”โ€”a half-human, half-vampire mix who hunts vampires. This time, D is hired by a human aristocrat to rescue his daughter, Charlotte, who has been abducted by a vampire lord named Meier Link. The aristocrat hires a group of mercenaries to compete with D and save Charlotte before she โ€œchangesโ€ into a vampire. Spectacular animation, which rivals anything Madhouse (animation gods in Japan) has ever done, a great story with well-written dialogue and complex heroes and villains make Bloodlust a must-own.
