This movie, written and directed by the brilliant David Lynch, is a film you could watch repeatedly, and it could have a different impact on you with each viewing. When a young wannabe actress (Naomi Watts) hooks up with an amnesiac woman (Laura Ellen Harring) strange things happen, and you may not get it the first time you watch it. Donโ€™t give up on this one, because it has some massive and horrifying secrets to unfold. Watts was criminally passed over for an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of a woman deluded by guilt, resulting in a bipolar portrayal that is nothing short of remarkable. Lynch made this into a movie after ABC rejected it as a TV pilot, and we should all be thankful for that networkโ€™s prudish practices. The DVD contains no extras of note, but Lynch does provide a list of helpful hints for understanding the film. This is a classic.
