Artown is chock full of activities and events that will keep you entertained throughout the month of July. Here’s a list of one cool event for each day of Artown to help get you started.
July 1:
Discover Storytime with Kathleen Durham is a childrenโs event as part of the Discover the Arts series going on weekdays throughout the duration of Artown. At this event, the Underfolk and Undermice sagas by Durham continue, and youโll get to make a miniature book before leaving. McKinley Arts and Culture Center. 9:30-11:30 a.m. Free. July 2:
Tuesday night Dancing in the Park performances start out with the Reno Dance Company with โIcons and Idols.โ This will be a tribute to entertainers, celebrities and pop cultures that affect the world of dance and music. July 3:

July 4:

Patriotic Music in the Park will be performed by the Reno Municipal Band to celebrate Independence Day. Prior to the event, the Wingfield Park Amphitheater will be renamed to the Wingfield Park Glenn Little Amphitheater and dedicated in memory of Glenn Little, a man who dedicated 55 years of his life to the Reno Municipal Band. July 5:

July 6:

Take the Bike Tour Through Old Reno to visit the most historic parts of Reno with Glee Willis as your tour guide. This tour is presented by the Historic Reno Preservation Society. July 8:
Family Festival will take place every Monday of Artown, excluding opening night. The event will have face painting, crafts, games, entertainment and more for Artown-goers of all ages. July 9:

Spoken Word will be an event from the Spoken Views Collective, Renoโs spoken word poetry collective, and put on by the Sierra Arts Foundation. This event will profile local spoken word poets. July 10:

July 11:

Red Baraat will be on the World Music Series stage this evening. This band consists of an eight-piece brass and drum combination and is known for being a great party band. July 25:
Latin musician Pete Escovedo will perform with his daughter, Sheila E., and an orchestra. He is a well-known musician and percussionist and has toured with Santana, Tito Puente and more. His style is a mix of Latin jazz, salsa, smooth jazz and contemporary music. Sheila E. was the percussionist for Prince and is a talented Latin musician.
