The Gatchaman series has been around seemingly forever in both Japan and the United States (it aired in the โ€˜70s on TV here, and it was known as Battle of the Planets and later as G-Force). One of the current trends in anime is companies revamping successful series of yesterday for todayโ€™s younger audiences. At first glance, Gatchaman 1994 doesnโ€™t seem like anything you would keep in your collection. The bland box, the stupid-looking characters in bird costumes and the awful music may repel some viewers. However, if viewers stick around, they are in for a decently entertaining experience with some nice animation and some good action sequences. But ultimately, Gatchaman 1994 is nothing more than standard entertainment that canโ€™t differentiate itself from the multitude of other superhero titles on the market.
