Reno’s Emily Skyle-Golden to receive top honor at Nevada Women’s Film Festival
The Nevada Women’s Film Festival, set to take place in Las Vegas March 19-22, has announced that its 2026 Nevada Woman of Achievement award will go to Reno’s Emily Skyle-Golden, founder of the Cordillera International Film Festival.
Skyle-Golden is also a writer, director and producer whose projects have appeared on HBO, Disney+ and Hallmark. She leads the Film Northern Nevada Initiative, a team that works to provide infrastructure and support for local productions; and the Future Filmmakers Foundation, which pairs aspiring filmmakers with professional mentors.

The festival will also feature at least two other Northern Nevada filmmakers. The lineup includes Kari Barber‘s The Muralist, a 26-minute documentary on Connor Fogal, a Reno artist who did not let cerebral palsy keep him from taking on a large mural project at the University of Nevada, Reno. It also includes Line Continued a short film by Rosie Trump, in which famed painter Carmen Herrera’s architectural minimalism is translated into dance.
