Only see this movie if you can find a 3D theater. Otherwise, stay away, because the fun is in the effects, and not necessarily the plotting or performances. Itโ€™s not a bad movie, but it isnโ€™t all that great either, so proceed with caution and make sure you are viewing it with the funny glasses. Brendan Fraser plays a scientist whose missing brother believed that Jules Verneโ€™s novel was real. When a seismic occurrence matches his brotherโ€™s notes, Fraserโ€™s character takes off to Iceland with his nephew (Josh Hutcherson) in tow. They fall into the center of the Earth, and you go โ€œWow!โ€ because the 3-D effects are a blast. If you are sitting in a 2-D screening, you go โ€œBFD!โ€ because without the 3-D, itโ€™s an amusement park ride that is sitting still. Fraser makes for a fun protagonist, and some of the sequences truly dazzle. See it in theaters, because watching it on DVD will probably blow.
