Lamb of God is often labeled as a thrash/progressive metal band, but their musicianship has some critics calling them the next big thing in metal music. “The complexity of our music appeals to people who like technical playing, but the arrangements are not so extreme that they fly over the average listener’s head,” bassist John Campbell says. 2004 proved to be a good year for the band, which headlined the second stage of Ozzfest and released their first major-label album, Ashes of the Wake, on Epic Records. Lamb of God and Death by Stereo perform 8 p.m. April 11 at New Oasis, 2100 Victorian Ave., Sparks. Tickets are $16-$18. Call 359-4020.
